Cover is half vellum with a gold gilt pattern. The other half of the cover has an illuminated pictorial book appropriate picture. Endpapers have various line drawn pictures of children playing. Brown dust jacket matches the vellum half with a black line drawn pattern but has only the title and series number on the right side. 6.5 x 5.25.

Cover has the same half vellum as Format 1 except it is green. The right side of the cover is unchanged from Format 1 The dust jacket has a picture of a boy leaning against a tree with the series name above the picture and the book title below the picture. Endpapers are plain. 6.5 x 5.25. This format began in 1910.

Series Notes:
1. The first editions of volumes 1-8 list only eight titles in the front advertisement (1904 books). All ten titles are listed in the front ad after books #9 and 10 were published in 1905.
